Boasting primal eating and sophisticated dining, Fatcow restaurant on James Street, built by Melrose, is one of Brisbane’s finest steak and fine dining restaurants.
Melrose was engaged as the Principal Contractor and transformed Fatcow from an empty retail tenancy. Situated on stylish James St, the exterior of the fitout was an important design consideration. Large structural steel elements were installed and paired with a quintessential bistro awning, creating a striking entrance with street appeal.
Upon entry, the reception area reflects the high quality of the food and the superior level of service offered by Fatcow.
Inside, the restaurant features a dry-aged beef display cupboard and a fresh oyster and seafood tank. Stylish booth seating greets guests right at the entrance, with detailed bulkhead ceilings aesthetically aligned with the booths.
Melrose demonstrated a high degree of project management expertise to deliver a fully functioning kitchen in a challenging confined space.
Stone finishes adorn the bar and back wall, complemented by subtle LED lighting. High-end finishes throughout elevate the space and reflect the service experience. Acoustic panels enhance comfort with booth seating and rear wall treatments, while a mirror finish adds a touch of sophistication. The design flows seamlessly throughout the restaurant, providing all diners with ‘the best seat in the house.’ The restaurant also includes two function spaces for special events.
